This Greasemonkey script will generate a Last.FM playlist based on user input.
When collecting tracks, it'll favor streamable tracks. If multiple tracks match the user input, it'll pick the first streamable track in the list. If there is no streamable track, it'll pick the first track in the list.

This is a yahoo! pipe to locate a user's musical neighbours on a yahoo map. Currently it gives only a location at the country level. However one could make it more accurate by fetching the location of the events attended by the
neighbours and infer a more precise location from that data.

If you get a 504 error try running the pipe again with more neighbours and/or
clone the pipe and change the default user.

Last.fm Artists is a Wordpress plugin that allows for user to display images of their top listened to artists on their blog.

It can be used as a widget or plugin allowing users to put it in blog posts or in their layout. It downloads the images from Last.fm, resizes them, and stores a local copy for a week.

This is an application which downloads your playcounts for every track on your Last.fm profile and compares them with the playcounts in Windows Media Player, updating the playcounts in WMP for any track with a lower playcount than Last.fm.

DRM protected tracks are not updated by default, but this is configurable as an option.

This program searches for id3 tags for the currently selected track in iTunes using the Last.FM XML service. Thge developer site is in Italian, but if you know what a j2me client is we are sure you can figure it out. Apparently there is an issue with streaming but the developer has a workaround for this.

Based on the open source KEXP scrobbler by Markus Palme, written in CSharp using the Windows dotNet Framework, this application can be downloaded as source or installed from the available executable.

It allows you to listen to your last.fm radio stations and to scrobble tracks played using the Nokia S60 Music Player. Music player scrobbling can be done both whilst you listen, or queued offline to be submitted later.

sudo ./install and you're off!

To customize the installation simply edit the install script. Otherwise, just add your Last.fm and MPD information to the /etc/mpd-scrobbler.conf file.

Drum up charts, displaying some customized data for either the user and his or her friends, or select a set of users. Various options provide plenty of flexibility.

Find the degrees separation between two site members using friend connections.

This cool web app displays all your Last.fm friends sorted by the Taste-o-meter score. Just submit your username to see all your friends compared.

It also calculates your personal "friendscore", providing an average taste match amongst you and your friends.

LastfmProxy does this by acting as a player itself, connecting to the server on your behalf, but instead of playing the stream, it simply relays it to whichever other application connecting to it.

It’s only tested under Linux, but it’s written in python, and should be pretty portable. It has been reported to work under various versions of Windows, Mac OS X and Pocket PC.

With a Semantic Web browser (e.g.Tabulator), you can then crawl from your main FOAF URI to your last.fm URI, to your scrobbled tracks and
the corresponding artists in the Musicbrainz RDF dataset, etcetera.

Exaile is a music player aiming to be similar to KDE's Amarok, but for GTK+ and written in Python. It incorporates many of the cool things from Amarok (and other media players) like automatic fetching of album art, handling of large libraries, lyrics fetching, artist/album information via Wikipedia, Last.fm submission support, and optional iPod support via a plugin.

iPodScrobbler allows you to scrobble your iPod, whether connected via Windows PC or Mac. The script is designed for people who prefer more fine-grained control over what gets scrobbled and is extendable.

PyScrobbler provides bindings for both submitting tracks and querying the web services. It is being used in existing apps, including: Exaile, the music player, and Sleevenotez, the music data aggregator.

Note: PyScrobbler is currently looking for developers to help keep up with API changes.

Audioscrobbler is a service that tracks listening habits. It offers services for audio meta data submission, feeds for several listening statistics and artist informations and some streaming capabilities.

Ascrblr aims to implement these services in the Java language.

With MediaPortal you can scrobble whilst you listen to your own favorite music or Last.fm radio streams.

In addition to the "Now playing" screen, MediaPortal uses Last.fm's datafeeds to provide top tracks for the current album and associated tag data. Also, the MediaPortal playlist is able to add neighbour's or friend's top tracks and similar tracks based on the current song playing.

SpeakOn is a free program that runs on your PC and is a speech enabled environment containing applications for listening to various media. It does not have a visual interface and in fact does not require a screen at all. You communicate with SpeakOn using a numerical keypad or the standard keyboard and SpeakOn responds with speech. Among other things, it includes a Last.fm radio application. There also is a Last.fm group for SpeakOn.

lastfmsubmitd is a replacement for the traditional Last.fm plugin model. Instead of re-implementing networking and caching code in each plugin, player plugins can simply send song information to the daemon, which will take care of the rest.

Quod Libet is a GTK+-based audio player written in Python. It's designed around the idea that you know better than we do how to organize your music. BMPx is excruciatingly simple to use, while being very powerful under the hood. BMPx is based on the current experimental codebase of the BMP project. BMPx has native integration of Last.fm's services.

It is implemented with MySQL, and PHP. It allows you to view, edit, and play your audio files via the web. Amarok has full support for last.fm streams. This includes advanced features known from the last.fm player, like skip/love/ban, cover images and metadata.

It is a separate application and shares some similarities with iScrobbler for Mac OS X. Songs can be played repeatedly, pausing is allowed, MBIDs are submittted and iPod played songs are supported, including iPod shuffle played and multiple played songs. AEP measures how diverse your music tastes are, based on the top 50 artists in your Last.fm profile. AEP is a number, usually below 5.
Roughly speaking, if it is greater than 4 you have very diverse taste in music, if it greater than 3 then you have fairly diverse taste in music. At the other end of the scale, if it is less that 0, you are probably an obsessive fan of your top artist. If it less than -10, you are probably a fake top fan.

This tool will find users who have you listed as their neighbour. The algorithm that Last.fm uses to find your weekly neighbours is not symetric - this means that you might have them as your neighbour, but you might not be their neighbour.

I wrote it in C# so you need the .NET 2.0 Framework. I was only able to test it with the 3.1.8.4(DE) german version of Napster. I would like to get some feedback from other localized versions of the client.

A musical tag cloud is a textual depiction of a music listener's profile and his musical preferences, by visualizing the collection of common tags for a user's top artists. Based on the data from musical social networking service Last.fm, we can automatically generate such tag clouds. Here's a preliminary data mining analysis of a large sample of such tag clouds.

This site collects the data from Last.fm alias Audioscrobbler, downloads the Album arts and sticks them together in one Image.

The generated image will then be saved for at least 21 days and after that either be deleted or, if still in use, be refreshed.

The size of your images is limited to a maximum of 30 albums.

After getting your Top 50 albums, MoneyCalc ask's the Amazon API how much the discs are at the moment. It not only takes the official Amazon price, but also includes offers for used discs by third parties.

This visualization represents the user relations of the involved ones and analyses are provided over existing social relations.

All you need is your username on last.fm and select type of certificate you want.

It takes your last.fm username, gets the lists of your favourite artists or albums and estimates the time you have spent listening to each of them based on the average track length.

LastGraph is based on Lee Byron's Last.fm Wavegraphs. I saw the page on them in early 2007 (along with a reasonable amount of other internet users), and decided I wanted similar graphs for myself. Lacking access to Lee's source code, and with a healthily small amount of free time, I made a render for myself.

Spurred on by the good reception it got from those I showed it to, I developed it into a web service, in order to bring pretty graphs of music history to the masses. After a sudden popularity boom, the code was rewritten and slightly optimised, to bring us where we are today.
